Our Approach
Principal, Stanton Smith Ph.D, P.Eng, CEng
Stanton spent all of his 20-year working career in the water and wastewater markets, working on technology innovation and commercialization, and is a specialist in low pressure membranes, i.e. ultrafiltration and microfiltration. Most recently, he was part of the Nanostone Water team where he supported product specification, development, positioning and launch into China and the US. Dr. Smith completed his doctorate as a Rhodes Scholar, developing an appreciation of the mechanism of flux enhancement in hollow fiber ultrafiltration, followed by a post-doctoral research position, both at the University of Oxford. He also holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cape Town in South Africa. Dr. Smith previously spent seven years at Veolia Water Solutions driving commercialization of integrated solutions centered around the CeraMem ceramic membrane product line. Prior to that Dr. Smith spent three years at Pall Corporation in their Membrane Technologies group. Dr. Smith has worked in the power generation, oil and gas upstream and downstream, primary metals, biofuels, drinking water and municipal wastewater including direct and indirect potable reuse. He lives in Boston with his wife and their two children.

Associated team members include specialists in their own areas as it pertains to understanding the UF/MF process. Team member specialties typically include controls, reverse osmosis, ion exchange, carbon filtration, biological treatment, advanced oxidation, and are brought into projects as needed, to address the core focus of UF/MF technologies.
